Seguro Saúde MEO CARE vs Habituais
Main Post:

Does anyone actually care about ghostty?
Main Post:
I've seen a numerous posts both here on Reddit and on YouTube about how this terminal is supposedly a "game changer" or "best terminal" etc, but I fail to see how it meaningfully improves on anything that actually matters.
It's website talks about how it's fast and "very feature rich" but the speed seems to be about the same alacrity and kitty in benchmarks. And since most people don't spend their time catting out binary blobs, you'd be hard pressed to notice a difference in speed for any real use case, even against so called "slow" terminals.
And the features it lists are really what I would consider the bare minimum, essentially taking an entire section to say it shows the text properly. Aside from that it has the kitty image protocol like kitty (obviously) and wezterm. The only differentiating factor as far is I can tell is that it's cross platform but also "native", which essentially boils down to the mac version looking different and having a few extra gimmicks.
And all this while having far less features than many of the options we already have such as iTerm2, kitty and wezterm. Wezterm for example, has everything in ghostty plus a multiplexing server supporting sessions, workspaces, tabs and splits that even works over ssh and other remote connections such as containers and WSL, and hot reloaded lua configuration providing a fully scriptable environment complete with a repl and debugger, and searchable scroll back and a built in ssh/serial port client and support for iTerm2 images as well as sixel. Not to mention it's actually cross platform with a fully functional windows version and a linux version that doesn't have major stability issues.
And I'm not trying to say that ghostty is bad, but I think the hype is entirely unreasonable given the great options we already have.
Top Comment: If you read Mitchell Hashimoto's Ghostty: Reflecting on Reaching 1.0 he has a whole section on why he didn't expect this much hype around the project and how it's just a pretty good terminal. I didn't anticipate the hype. Some people think I am lying when I say this. I'm not. I'm not so naive to think that private betas and exclusive access don't generate hype in principle. But I didn't think many people at all would be interested in a terminal emulator. I thought I was building boring software for a niche audience. No hype! ... One more negative aspect of the hype is the expectation of Ghostty being revolutionary. It is and it isn't. Ghostty has different goals and tradeoffs than other terminals. For those looking for those properties, Ghostty is a breath of fresh air and does things that no other terminal does. But for others, it's just a terminal. And that's okay. I hope you find a terminal that works for you and I don't claim that Ghostty is the end all be all of terminals.
Benq vs Dell Eye Care
Main Post:
Hey everyone, I need your help deciding between two monitors: the BENQ GW2790Q and the Dell S2725DS. Both have similar specs, but I'm torn. The Dell has better speakers and a sleeker stand, while the BENQ boasts a hardware brightness sensor and advanced eye care features. I spend over 8 hours a day working with text-based apps, so I'm curious about the eye care features and display quality of each. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

I have a BenQ RD280U with their ergo arm to do long text based sessions. I understand that their eye-care features are similar to the GW2790Q. I like it very much and use virtually all that is offered from light mode which reduces brightness to timer for breaks to environmental light adjustment. It’s easy to switch modes on the fly. Text is very crisp though this one is basically 4K. The ergo arm is fantastic and does not extend behind the desk. Cannot speak to the dell.
